      ... or get Spirit to drop it off at the hotel for $20. Much as it pained me to pay Spirit anything by this stage, I just wanted my bag back.

      I called the Everglades tour company and let them know I actually made it, but I was too late to make the morning trip. Luckily they had an afternoon tour scheduled for 1pm so I said I’d go on that one instead. Had an hour or so to kill so checked out the hotel pool (which is across the road from the back of the hotel) ...

      ... had been back in 2000 to Orlando where it was very hot & humid. This time the thermometer read 29C but it wasn't humid at all. The sea while not Thailand hot was certainly warm & most pleasant. Overall a very nice way to spend my first day off in almost 5 months! I'm looking forward to coming back In June to spend more time here.

      Attached to the hostel was a Taco shack. Great Mexican food, nice & cheap

      And so it begins! We are off on our latest adventure. We are journeying through the Caribbean with our great friends Roger and Marilyn.

      Last night we flew down to Ft. Lauderdale on JetBlue. This was our first flight on this airline and I found it much superior to Southwest, where I spent so many unpleasant hours over the last 8 years. JetBlue was a nice change.

      ... day and decide to rather not go out so went to get pizza with Greg and Jason and watched TV. Sunday I FaceTimed with Mom and Han for Mother's Day :) Nicole and I went to Starbucks for 'lunch' where we shared a pumpkin bread slice and a cranberry and orange scone... Super yum!!!!
