Arlington, Texas, United States socksIn 2009, the Dallas Cowboy football stadium moved from Irving, Texas to Arlington, Texas. The stadium's 1,290 foot steel arches are the most recognizable feature on the Arlington horizon. This Stadium is now the largest in the NFL. It features a retractable roof, two 63,000 square foot panels which can be opened or closed in just 12 minutes and the largest Trinitron in the NFL. The stadium has a seating capacity of 80,000 for ...
Arlington, Texas, United States socksOur worse day of travel so far. Started out in Oklahoma City with light rain - a straight shot south on I-35 into Ft Worth, Texas. On our way we encounted heavy rain and high winds. We counted at least 5 major accidents, cars and tractor trailers were all over the highway both in the median and off the edge of the road. Our total average speed was 45 MPH. Our drive was suppose to be a 3 hr drive; it took us 5 hrs.
Arlington, Texas, United States socks... a raised portion of land, you have seen the idea. The water will spread itself out into multiple paths, multiple tendrils reaching out into discovery. Not all will continue. Some of these fingers will end. Have they failed? Would this water feel a lacking of value, of success? I do not think so. I think this is when the water would say " I see. I understand. Not this way, eh? Perhaps I will try over here." Dead end? I think not. Perhaps the things ...
Fort Worth, Texas, United States zmarv... got Congress to agree to the $30K expenditure to bring Arabian camels to the west to advance exploration. The first ones arrived in Indianola, TX in 1857. At the end of the Civil war, interest in the animals waned and they were auctioned off in 1863. I don’t know how long camels live, but I don’t think the ones in the area today are the originals.

In addition to the park, there is also the Odessa Meteor Crater and the ...
Weatherford, Texas, United States dlpoolOffically started the treck. Do a couple of easy ones first.

Started with Dallas County. The old courthouse is now the "Old Red Courthouse Museum". Then up to the newest courthouse in Texas which is the Collin County Courthouse in McKinney. Proceeded then over to Denton and take photos of the Denton County Courthouse.
North Richland Hills, Texas, United States txoilgas... to light David's candle, a simple taper, and her best friend (a completely hilarious woman named Kathy who happens to be a glitz-wearing dentist) would light one for Michele. This the two of us did, me with out my glasses of course. Then Jerry "stood up" with David, Kathy stood up with Michele, and I was instructed to stand by. A touching but brief ceremony and then it was an Italian dinner, no wedding cake, tiramisu instead ...
Fort Worth, Texas, United States lrandal... on the outskirts of Ft. Worth, all the mod cons, sleekly neutral interiors and a TV in our room big enough for a sports bar. Plus 24 Starbuck's coffee in the lobby, etc. And for our further convenience, I swear to God, we can walk to both Costco and a Super Target (defies description). Flat big-box land is the only way to describe it. And hot: 99 degrees when we arrived.

Tomorrow: the wedding...
Fort Worth, Texas, United States lrandal... coming into Texas there wasn't a drop of rain, so going to bed without a cloud in the sky we thought heck with the rain fly. Well at about 6 o'clock in the morn we were woken by the pitter patter of rain, so we scrambled to put on the rain fly which didn't seem to fit but effectively stopped the rain, latterly it stopped raining before we were back in our sleeping bags, oh well. ByeYaalll as we say it in Texas.
Fort Worth, Texas, United States hookah87Arrrghhh, something happened to the train and we had to get off at Fort Worth, not far from Dallas and get a bus from Fort Worth to Austin. Surprisingly the bus was late for around 2 hours so I went for a walk around Fort Worth, looks a really nice place. Full of small bars and mexican restaurants. Temperature is in the 80's in Texas so need to get the gers shorts on. Only 4 hours to Austin...
