I made casual mention that we must have bought the last tickets. Soon a park ranger showed up and announced that power was out in the whole park and most of the town.
Apparently they have one main power pole that someone decided to run a truck into.
The ranger explained that the caves lighting would be out and that we would be taking a flashlight tour instead of the normal tour. This ended up being ...
... approach fix. Winds were 15kts just off runway heading but gusting to 22kts. The Diamond Star didn't seem to mind at all, with great stability on final and settled down nicely. We visited AERO-One FBO for fuel and had a quick early lunch at Willie's Cafe in the main terminal. Arrived earlier than planned at Pecan Point RV Park, set up and relaxed. Nice level site, easy access, facilities not that great, just ...

We said our goodbyes to Barrett then took off in search of placing our first travel bug. We ended up placing Isabella the Flame Point Siamese travel bug near Jacksonville before finally turning west into the sunset on I-10 and making our way. We finally crossed timezones and settled for Dothan, AL to lay our heads.
We paid $3.25 for gas in ...
