This hotel was under $70 for three of us in 2 queen beds. It was a comfortable room with all appropriate amenities, was clean and the staff were helpful. There was also the use of a pc and breakfast was included.

... of the ramp.

Atlanta, Illinois, was small and cute and just like a small town with one main street and a town square should be. I wouldn't have minded poking around there for a bit, but we will find others when we are maybe not so behind on the day's drive. I bought a stamp for Mum's first postcard here anyway.

My special treat to myself today was to stand on both ends of the original Route 66 that now disappears in to Springfield Lake - an enormous man made reservoir ...

The title says it all. It's too hot to go outside but we go anyway. Went to visit
Roger & Esther Willey for lunch Thursday.

Our remodeling to bring washer & dryer upstairs has been proceeding slowly.
We hope to have them up in the next few days.

Ron will need surgery on his achilles tendon, it is scheduled for 7/16. Please keep
us in your prayers.

... too! Wow - what beautiful horses! The tour concluded with a sampling of different beers. Clay, Morgan and Mary had to settle for Sprite and Lemonade. To be honest, the lemonade was my favorite too.

As I type we are on our way toward Kansas City. We will stay about an hour outside St. Louis and drive the other three hours tomorrow morning. Rumor has it there is some incredible bbq at a place called Gate's BBQ for lunch tomorrow. Yum!
