    Omaha zoo

... demonstrations/experiences to see because it was not the weekend. They seem to run a limited experience programme during the weekdays, but still charge the same price. I guess the trade off was a very quiet zoo experience. After the zoo we had dinner at Cheesecake Factory. We both had salads and we shared a 30th birthday cheesecake. It was a reasonably warm day today, but it was pants weather so no shorts today. As we head south from tomorrow we will be getting back to hotter ...

It's definitely cooler in Omaha, with the temp in the high teens rather than the mid to late 20s we have had to date. We got a pretty good car, a Sonata, from National car rental, and I felt really comfortable straight away driving on right side of road and left side of the car. We were up at 3.15am to catch our Amtrak train from Omaha to Chicago. We had booked a sleeper, so were able to get an hrs sleep before the breakfast call at 7am. It was good except we got held up by a freight train for one and a half hrs - ...

... to the Hawthorn Suites where we relaxed with our iPads and iPhones, watched the comedian Gabriel Iglesias, and bloopers from How I Met Your Mother. Chad has a friend from UOP coming over and I'm headed off to bed.

Tomorrow we'll stop and visit with Mom's friends, Chuck and Vivian, and then we are headed to Iowa. It will be nice to stay in one place for a couple of days. I was super tired driving today and would like a chance to just ...
