... our impression of the smaller towns becoming dilapidated and deserted by the younger generations.
Pressing on, we soon came to the small town of Stuart. Though big enough to justify a water tower with its name on, it was still small - a sign said: "Home of 1700 good eggs and a few stinkers."
Route 6 merged into Interstate 80, and the miles passed quickly below our wheels. Undulating countryside of mixed farming use passed by, to ...

Some nice points about Iowa I80...The road was smooth, rest stops every 30 miles, free WiFi, and some even had "dump stations". Thank you IOWA! At 1:00 it is raining & 66. We will boondocks ...

In the next couple of hours we drove through Peoria and arrived in Normal. Tomorrow, Ruby, Jaimie, Jaimie's friend Krissy, and I are going to Chicago. Looking forward to ...

    ... the storms.

Even though the storms had mostly moved east, clouds and rain remained, so we had to pick up an IFR clearance and shoot an RNAV approach into Millard, NE. I have done more IFR cross-country on this trip (only a few hours, actually) than I have in all my previous Flyabouts combined. After putting the plane in an expensive hangar (necessary in Nebraska due to the risk of thunderstorms with baseball-sized hail), my cousin ...

Omaha Republican Business and Professional Women

A travel blog entry by sidforsenate on Jan 20, 2014

It felt good to be "preaching to the choir" as a guest speaker to the Omaha Republican Business and Professional Women's group at their regular dinner at the Garden Cafe in Rockbrook Village.

We conservatives know what needs to be done. We are united in determination to reverse course in Washington, D.C. We will install solid Republican ...
