... Old Brooklyn Cafe and Bakery and the staff were lovely and helpful. We had never before seen such a display of bagels - it was quite foreign to us. We realised it was lunch time so decided to get a meal with our juice. I asked for apple and carrot, then they suggested "Carol" juice which is CARrot, Orange and appLe. We sat at the front of the cafe windows and got to watch the passers-by. We both love to people watch and saw many things; ...

... from my suitcase to get it under the weight limit and finished up some odds and ends. Louie and Rosie were increasingly stressed as they sensed our imminent departure (or was that just ME?) Poor pups! Poor us! Finally, at 12:20pm, we drove out of Fresno..  headed for the Bay Area. We had a wonderful dinner (complete with TWO bottles of excellent wine) with a GREAT friend at Paul ...

... lobby which made our backpacks look slightly out of place. Paul & Jean had really spoilt us and we are thankful to them. There is a lot to see and do in San Fran in three days, but Paul & Jean have a lot of energy and made sure we did it all. The portions were enormous and enough to fill you up until dinner, especially the artery clogging stacks ...

... group on the ship were singing some song about bells & waves or something but I started singing unbreath. Not the words to that song but the words to 'click go the shears'. Same tune, different words. Now I was left wondering if they'd ripped us off or we'd ripped them off - almost Meade me question my whole existence! We moved to check out the sorta paddle steamer sorta ferry, which had a heap of cool old cars on there...and more singin' about the seas?! We met up with ...

... We wandered through Fishermans Wharf for a while before heading back to the hotel for the Queen Anne very british afternoon tea and a well earned rest. Later we walked down to the Sweet Lime Thai restaurant which is opposite Sweet Maple where we had breakfast in the morning. We had a fine Thai meal which was a very welcome change. We reminisced about our trip to Thailand with proprietor and had a very pleasurable evening.

    End of another long day.
