Houston, we're not Kennedy Space Center

A travel blog entry by jason934 on Oct 05, 2015

... After the tour we looked at the space artefacts and watched a few movies/documentaries. There isn't as much to see and do at the center compared to Kennedy so we left at about 3pm a little disappointed (spoiled perhaps at going to Kennedy first). For dinner we got some Chinese food and called it a night. The Chinese good wasn't that good - Sam had Mongolian Chicken (lots of onion) and I had sweet and sour pork (too sweet, or not enough sour ...

... a weekend so the traffic was not too bad. Seabrook is a really nice seaside town. For dinner we found an independent restaurant called Seabrook Classic Cafe. Sam had crab cakes and I had chicken schnitzel, and we shared a homemade key lime pie for dessert. The food was really yummy and there were lots of locals both eating in and taking out so it was a good ...

Now back to my earlier point, that's why I stressed 'attempted' conversation. You start one up and then a team of quad bikes blasting music zoom past, drowning out the sound of any conversation you were attempting. You try again and then another group zooms past ...

... get there it's gone. But luckily there is another flight at 3:10 (original flight was 2:05), we're able to get 3 middle seats and then I orchestrate the largest onboard seat rearrangement in the history of United. Literally no one in the last 6 rows is sitting in their assigned seat! We end up with 2 aisles and a middle, and the rest of the flight is quiet.

Finally back in Houston! Wish we could figure out a way to travel to foreign countries without all the airports and ...

... Mum and Dad to do that and got taxi's with the others.

Moving forward another 2 hours to central time we reached Houston and said bon voyage to Mumma and Papa who continued on to New Orleans. We will be meeting up with them again in New York in about a week.

the 6 of us made our way to the Avis car hire booth to organise picking up the 2 cars we had hired. The boys were disappointed that they didn't get 4wd which is what they were expecting. We have a red Jeep ...
