The most beautiful La Quinta I've stayed at!

I needed a hotel to stay in during Jazz Fest, and this was the only one I found at a decent price ($99) with availability. (I booked through Hotres.com.) What I found when I arrived was far more than I could have ever expected. The lobby is HUGE and beautifully decorated...marble floors, nice furniture, etc. The parking valet and the front desk staff were very kind & attentive. The room was great. Clean, nicely decorated, comfortable beds, nice bathroom. The only problem we encountered was that the toilet did not flush properly. When I checked out the next morning, I told the front desk clerk and she apologized and waived my parking fee. The complementary breakfast was very nice. The only one I've ever been to that was Atkins friendly...they had hard-boiled eggs! They also had a waffle maker for you to make your own waffles. I was VERY impressed with this hotel. It is walking distance from Bourbon Street or anywhere you want to go. A+++!

Excellent location, great hotel!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to New Orleans! I come here quite often and this is the only place I will ever stay again! I had reservations at another hotel but on arrival found out they were all messed up. I had 12 girls coming in to town and no where for them to sleep. I was furious and upset. I started calling around to get another hotel and no one would give me the same rate. I called the La Quinta and they were extremely supportive and helpful. They accomadated me and my friends with no trouble. The rooms were spacious, clean and the staff was very nice. The weekend turned out to be wonderful, all thanks to this hotel!

Great location & attentive staff

Recently stayed at the LaQuinta for six nights and I could not have been more pleased. Great location, very attractive furnishings and decor, very attentive staff and a really nice breakfast in the morning. Housekeeping was excellent. I would highly recommend this outstanding property.

Was fine with me

I spent the summer there a couple of years ago. For the price that I paid, the serice was rather nice. I wonder why do people expect 5 star service for a motel 6 price and then get upset and criticize the place afterwards. Good location, nice service, for a decent price

A Nice, Clean and Inexpensive Place

I have stayed here twice and have had excellent service both times.

It's a no frills environment but the rooms are very nice and clean and the price is right. The suites are especially nice and roomy and not much more expensive than a double room. the staff has always been friendly and helpful...especially one time when our door lock malfuctioned and we were locked out of our room. A maintenance person came up immediately, even though it was 4am, and repaired it right away. I would definitely stay here again.

Really liked the location

My friend and I made last minute plans to escape our daily grind and escape to New Orleans for the New Year. We chose the La Quinta rather blindly, and were nervous as the airport shuttle began the trek to our destination but that reservation quickly turned to relief once we arrived. Nice, seemingly clean, comfortable. I won't lie, our heater WAS a bit wacky at times and our washcloths from one day were still there the next (making me wonder if they cleaned the shower at all), but other than that, we were content. The best features were the room layouts (rather spacious) and the location. The hotel is only a two-block walk to the French Quarter (close enough to the fun, but away from it enough to relax) and within walking distance of the riverwalk and casino area.

Could have done better.

First and foremost, the location is good in relation to attractions especially if you don't want to stay in the French Quarter, but I will never return to New Orleans without staying in the French Quarter.

While the appearance was generally quite nice, our room showed signs of previous partying, which could have easily been cleaned up had the cleaning crew been on top of things. And speaking of on top of things, they forgot to tell us upon booking that the pool and spa would be closed for renovation, the continental breakfast would be fantastic, especially the belgian waffles, just make sure you are the first in line as they don't restock anything. And if you are hoping the staff at the front desk to guide you or help you out...don't. Not that they were rude, just slow and less than helpful. Overall, it was a good bargain, but I think I could have done better.

Could have been better

I stay at La Quinta whenever I travel to a city that has one and normally love it. Great rooms, at a great rate. This time however, I was disappointed. My family (5) and I stayed at the downtown La Quinta over the Christmas holiday. The hotel is beautiful and the front desk staff was wonderful. Upon arrival the room was in great shape... After that, the trash was only taken out when I requested it, we received 2 clean towels for 5 people, the sink was never so much as wiped, the beds were never made, toilet paper never replaced, coffee never replenished. I got tired of asking and finally washed some towels myself, had my sons take out the trash on the third day, and went to the lobby for coffee. I'll stay at La Quinta again only because I know that this is not typical, but if this were my first visit, I'd never go back.

Excellent Hotel

If you are planning a trip to New Orleans, then the LaQuinta Inn & Suites located at 301 Camp Street is the place to stay. It has a great location, outstanding service, reasonable price compared to the other hotels. I was there for three nights in Oct. and cannot say anything bad about this hotel. This was my first visit to New Orleans and their staff did everything they could to make it a very enjoyable trip. I am planing a trip back to New Orleans in the spring, and I will be staying at this hotel again.

Dont be fooled by apperances

I stayed at this hotel in May of 2003 for a graduation after another hotel had lost our reservation. This was the only hotel that had opening, which I later found out why. It looks great from the outside, and the rooms are spacious. I was insulted by the way that the employees treated me and my friends. I pulled up in the turn around to sign in and drop off my luggage. As I droped my things off my friend waited in the turn around. Upon returning I found that we were stuck behing a SUV parked in the middle of the turn around. As they unpacked there things and left there car they looked at us and turned there alarm on. when we asked them to please move their car so we could get by they refused. We went to the front desk and asked how they could help us with this matter they informed us that the guests were having there car valet parked, and they we would just have to wait until they moved the car. After a half an hour of arguing and being laughed at and ignored by the staff the valet guy finally showed up. He went up to the staff, who informed him that we needed to leave, and he replied "I will just take my time than" and they all laughed. As they finally moved the car and there was a line of cars behind us now, they informed me that I would not be allowed to check in. I informed them, I already did. I ended up spending all of my time at my friends hotel. Never will I stay at a la quinta hotel again.
