The evening was quite mild (well, above zero) and the walk was just what was needed after such a filling meal. Plans for the Christmas Day menu have started taking shape and shopping lists drawn up. I rolled into my friends Kevin and Jessica’s driveway around 9pm just as the last light of day was fading to the west. Their two young daughters, Kira and Ariana, had set up camp in the driveway waiting for me to arrive and starting dancing around and shouting with joy when I pulled up. I have never ...

... to do. Chicago has a biking scheme identical to London’s, so I have now used this system successfully in London, Barcelona, Denver and now Chicago. I saw the Wrigley Building, Downtown, the beach (this was a surprise - I wasn’t expecting sand and people sunbathing), various parks, a lake and plenty of nightlife, although I was more of an observer than a participator!
