... a really cool place. After that we rented bikes (California cruisers) and rode all the way down the bike track along the beach. We went all the way past the Santa Monica pier with the amusement park which looked exactly like GTA5! There was so much colour and music and interesting people. It was like Vegas at the beach but with colourful people instead of lights. So much fun. Next we went to check into our hotel on ...
... LA, Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, and Beverley Hills. All the way through our trip we have used public transport where possible. When we talk about it with acquaintances they are a little stunned that we have survived the experiences unscathed. It certainly has aided in our understanding of the real USA. On our third day in LA we decided to head over to Hollywood. I had read about Runyon Canyon park and the trails up the hollywood hills. This was on my 'to do' list... so glad we did it - it was so fantastic! The hike took approx 1 hour all up. The trek to the top was steep and hot (we didn't plan the timing very well - it was about midday and the sun was beaming down on us like no tomorrow!) but it was worth it ...
