THE LIGHTHOUSE AT SANDCASTLE CITY PARK AND RV CAMPGROUND
The city of Lavaca has a city RV park called THE LIGHTHOUSE right on the beach with full hook ups, laundry and showers. Our campsite looked right on the water and boardwalk.

There are several wildlife refuges along the Texas coastline. We drove to Goose Island because it was located on the shores of the Gulf and rumor had it that there were Whooping Cranes in the area. There is a light on the stairs, and it is only glowing at about ¼ of its brightness when the stairs are not working, and at full glow when all is OK.
