Great deal for the money
In orlando for a weekend of shopping and stayed one night at the LaQuinta. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the room and friendly front desk staff. The hotel seems pretty new and the room was a decent size. We were given a "goody bag" upon check in which had a razor/shaving cream, toothpaste, candy bar, etc. --Nice touch! Also, after being in the room for about 30 minutes, the desk clerk called to "see if everything was to our satisfaction". For a moderate hotel, that is pretty unusual and refreshing! I would definitely stay here again for a clean, comfortable place to sleep. Not in the same league as a 4 or 5 star, but it is not trying to be. We paid $100/night and this was a good value for the money. If you are picky about cleanliness (as we are) and want a midpriced hotel, this is your place!
Great hotel very friendly staff
We had a great time. The La Quinta is a wonderful hotel. Very clean with the friendliest staff, and the rates are very affordable. All you can eat continental breakfast, from fresh fruits to hot waffles. It's in a good location and close to lots of activities that you can walk to. We took in Sea World, which is only 3 miles down the road and Disney is also close by. Lots of other attractions and plenty of shopping. One of our best vacations. We will definately visit again.
We chose this hotel because it had good reviews on trip adviser and were really, really pleased with it. Wonderful - highly recommended, if you had six stars we would have given it to this hotel for the price it is fab, even without considering the price its brilliant.
We are used to staying at 4/5 star hotels in England and chose this for the first week of a very long holiday thinking it would be adequate and were amazed. This is as good as any 4 star hotel in England with the execption of not having a place to eat in for lunch or dinner at night (lots of dining options very close by). A superbly clean airy and well maintained hotel with very freindly helpful staff. We felt welcome and looked after from our arrival, which due to travel dificulties was well after midnight, to our departure. The bedrooms were very quiet, large and airy including a very well equiped bathroom with power shower, hair drier, coffee maker etc. We were two adults and a teenager sharing a room and the room was very spacious. The hotel has a small fitness room with walker, cycle and some upper body machines - not huge but very adequate to keep in trim and was not overly used so we never waited to use equipment.
The swimming pool is medium sized outdoor and heated as hot as a bath ! Wonderful clean towels by the pool, loungers are plentyful and tables with sun shades are also dotted around for those of us with English skin that needs breaking in gently to the Florida heat. The pool is tucked away in a lovely courtyard setting and is a haven of peace and quiet with loungers around the pool area which catch the sun all day. This seems to be a hotel which goes for the professional market so the pool area was very quiet and even though we stayed over the Easter break we only ever shared the pool with a couple of others. This is a hotel for relaxation and quiet not set up for children with themes and constant entertainment or arcades etc but very good with the children that were staying. A real pleasure to retreat to at the end of a busy day.
The complementary breakfast is brilliant including ceareals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, toast, fancy breads and buns, muffins and best of all, make your own waffles - plenty of fruit juices, coffee and tea - served in the foyer which is light and bright you can eat and drink as much as you like going back as many times as you like, a really great extra. Most mornings we set ourselves up for the day and had very little need for lunch. This hotel is in a busy area within easy walking distance of International Drive including being two minutes walk away from an ace mini golf course ( Black beards course is the best )and many restaurants. The hotel feels really quiet and secluded and is a real retreat from the hustle and bustle. Plenty of parking which can be accessed directly from International Drive making it within 5 minutes drive of all the big attractions of the Convention Centre, Ripleys "believe it or not" ( you must visit it's great fun! ), Wonderworld, Wet and Wild etc....
We highly recommend this hotel. For eating out lunch or dinner we suggest good food at reasonably low price is available at The Olive Garden ( Italian food) out of the car park onto I. Drive turn left approx 2 minutes drive near Pizza Hut and the Red Lobster ( Sea Food ) out of the car park turn right and drive for a little further but still only minutes away just out of main attraction area of I. Drive beyone Wet and Wild on your right. For really cheap but Ok buffet lunch /breakfast try the Ponderosa on I Drive couple of minutes walk away.
Great place to stay. Very clean and the staff is very helpful. The breakfast in the mornings is very nice. Great location. I will stay at this place again.
I will definitely stay here again!!
I have to say I was really nervous before arriving in the hotel. I had never stayed at a La Quinta Inn and I didn't know what to expect. I was very pleasantly suprised. The check in was fast and the staff was very friendly. The room was spacious and very clean! The breakfast selection was good and was well stocked. We enjoyed the Create Your Own Waffles. The location was great. It was within walking distance of several good restaurants and less than 10 minutes drive from Universal Studios. I plan to stay here when I visit Universal again during the summer. I would definetely reccomend this hotel to family and friends.
Nice, relaxing and clean! (12/22/04)
This hotel was way beyond any expections I had. I'd never stayed at a La Quinta before. Upon arriving, the staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. They said hello to my puppy when we brought her through, and even offered a late checkout without my asking. The room was fairly large with a refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom had plenty of space and was very clean. The bed was pretty comfortable and the sheets were also spotless. The location is great because you are only a block off of International Drive and within walking distance to many restaurants. There is a very large miniature golf place right behind this hotel that looked like a lot of fun.
Awesome place to stay
Me & my boyfriend found the pleasure of stumbling upon this place after 4 hours of hell at 2 previous hotels in orlando. We both where at the boiling point when we arriving in to this fairly new inn. We explain to our front desk clerk our previous experience and we where just hoping for a nice clean room. Me & my boyfriend where both given keys & upon entering the room we where both impressed. The rooms where new & clean, there was a mini-kitchen-with a fridge & microwave, a tv, a sofa, & a clean bathroom. The beds I have to say where the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept on in my life. In fact, I wish I knew where they got them so I could buy myself one as well. In the morning they have free continental breakfast with such things as make your own waffles, cereal, fruits, drinks, bread, eggs, etc. The front desk supervisor who we talked to was very funny, nice, and helpful. The hotel is also very accessible if you have no car down there to get to all the local attractions via public transportation. The hotel is also off I-Drive so its near local shops, restaurants, and the best mini-golf place is next door. The pool also was amazing and there is a hot tub to use as well. All i have to say is if you want a clean, friendly staff, and all around great place to stay then stay at this place.
Tranquil and warm place
This is a very nice location; close to many shops, entertainment facilities, and restaurants. It did not take me long to get to the parks, which you are best off riding by shuttle instead of byTaxi. The beds were confortable, the staff was very welcoming, the breakfast was too good to be called complimentary and overall, the hotel was great. I was there 3 days and wished i had stayed longer. I would certainly recomend and go back.
Peaceful and classy .... highly recommended
If you're looking for somewhere to stay that's within walking distance of the attractions of I-Drive but away from the hustle and bustle (and traffic noise) then this hotel is ideal. The Mercado and I-Drive are both less than 5 minutes walk away. Good mini-golf right next door too. Room was very spacious, clean and quiet, plus very comfortable beds. Breakfast (waffles, toast, fruit, eggs, cereals) is complimentary. Nice lobby, with comfy chairs, and a good (small) pool area too. General atmosphere around the hotel is peaceful and classy. Would definitely stay here again.
La Quinta la lovely
We have stayed there on two different trips. It is a great hotel! Thats why we returned. There are several La Quinta Hotels but this one at 8340 Jamaican Drive is the best in Orlando. It is quite new looking and the furnishings are very nice. Beautiful Lobby and they have a quite a nice breakfast buffet which is complimentary. The pool is very nicely landscaped but it is on the larger of the small scale pools. If you are going here for the pool its nicer than alot of other places but not like a Disney Resort Pool. The suites here are very nice too! We had a little mini kitchen. Great Bathrooms they are so important when your traveling. Stay there if you want a good deal and above better than average price hotel. They location is great if you want to walk out for dinner or golf. I like the fact to you can hop on International and Universal Drives from either entrance and take off too Disney or Sea World or Universal. The staff is ever so nice and giving you coupons to the restaurants etc.... No complaints.
