Today was the first day of my trip, and while I wish I had something exciting to tell all of you, there really wasn't any drama that I can expound upon. All told, it was a bit uneventful. It was so uneventful, in fact, that I fell asleep several times in the car on the Florida interstate as we made our way from Pensacola to Jacksonville. My last two semesters at UNF, I had a small picture of Italy taped to the inside of my binder and I have had a picture of Italy in my bedroom for several years to make sure I traveled there one day. It's surreal that my "one day" is seven days from now... I will be able to see so many things during those six weeks and I'm sure I will be craving more! ...

The most stunning touch was a backdrop of what looked like a little Italian street which was set up beside the stage with curtains on either side of the picture.
