Boy is it hard to wake up this morning! I'm thinking a second cup of coffee is in order. Let's see.....what all will we need today? Camera's, map, binoculars, comfortable shoes, picnic lunch and some drinks. That ought to do it. We are up and out the door by 7:00am. We'll head north on 41 out of Fresno up into the south entrance of Yosemite.

By 7:30 AM we were on the road again to Kings Canyon National Park, about a ninety minute ride and our guide, Frank, had commentary and stories to tell mile by mile. Fascinating!

... restaurant is named. There were beautiful blooming plants and many unique cacti and other succulents. We were lucky enough to observe a pair of hummingbirds flitting around some purple blooms. We were close enough to see their iridescent green color but they would not pose for a picture!
We were back on the road by 2 PM ...
... place to put it right in the middle of the car park, not much damage to the car thank goodness. We headed off up to the sequoia park, up and up til we really could nearly touch the sky, magnificent. We were 7335 feet up. We got into a shuttle bus up to one lot of the trees, they are just the most majestic things I have ever seen. We tried to take photos, but they just didn't do the trees justice. ...
