Preparing for a short trip can be quite easy, BUT, preparing for a six week adventure can be
some what nervous, exciting and wondering what should I pack and knowing that I should only Pack the essentials. Sam drove me to the airport in Fresno and helped me check in and then
waits until he can't see me any more. I'm on my own until the plane takes off for San Francisco,

We enjoyed a box lunch picnic in the park. They were packed by the hotel and were better than expected (after last night's poor meal)---sandwich, chips and cookie. We ate with Eric and Sue from Illinois, very nice folks.

After lunch and a short drive we took in an amazing view of Kings Canyon ...

that we had to walk back down the river and cross then come up the other side.
LOL government run business. What did I expect?
We then hiked up to the trail head where we saw a no dog sign. Now why
wouldn’t it say that in the parking lot? ...

... she was kind and polite and we told her we were on our way back to the car, and she smiled and let us go on our way.

After lunch in the village in King's Canyon, we found our way to the General Grant tree, which is even more secluded from the roadway. And we walked up to see it. It is the third largest tree in the world at 40 feet in diameter at the base and 107 feet in circumference, and that square foot area is a lot larger than our first house.

... I have met over the last 4 years, but I have grown to love and accept my sister's devotion to this extremely talented young man( and the rest of his band too!) The entire town of Clovis is buzzing today.....Lots of out of towner's have arrived, many for the 98th annual Clovis Rodeo, and possibly more "cooktards" than cowboys!!
