... then we hit the traffic.
We had to descend from 8,000 feet down to sea level and the road was pretty curvy and had a definite gradient to it. At 6,000 feet we got stuck in a traffic jam for an hour as a lorry had smashed into a pickup truck and the road had to be closed off.
