    ... out of LA was fun but once we were on the highway it was amazing, the terrain and the views were lovely - even from the seat of our car we could see that this place was gorgeous!!
    We arrived at Bakersfield in good time although there really isn't much to do around here so we decided to chill out as tomorrow would be the long drive to up the pacific coast highway to monterey!
    We are very much looking forward to this and actually can't wait to get back on the road ...

    ... and made our way to I-15.
    The distance from Las Vegas to the California border was only about 50 miles. On the way, we could see a large mountain range ahead of us, at first difficult to see due to the distance, and hidden by fog, smog or dust. The further we drove, the closer we were to the mountains (duh).

    Airport Security that Isn't So Secure

    ... there that night. Then I looked more closely and saw that I had boarding passes for a different person. I found that our names were basically the same but slightly different spellings.


    I went to the gate desk and pointed out the error. Those boarding passes were snatched from my hands so quick and new ones printed.


    Now I understand how the airline made an error but the TSA supposedly scrutinized ...

    ... or the boot. When we arrived at the house we were provided with a tour, the house has a massive swimming pool with a rockfall slide and a basketball hoop. The family has 3 kids . Unfortunately me and Ashleigh have to share rooms again - we are sharing a bunk bed.
