... RV! We both find it sad for us older folks who can remember this segment of history; however, the present day younger set may never hear, nor know, of the Chisholm Trail. Our initial learning of the Trail came from the old black & white TV shows back in the ‘60’s, and these are now stored away in Hollywood archival film cans—Rawhide, Maverick, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Laramie, and of course… the Wild, Wild West. Maybe those oldies will be shown as re-runs ...

Well, we're finally here!! Landed in Dallas this afternoon after a stop over in LA. Took us about 4 hours to sort out the rental car pick up, and our new phones. A busy day. Linda kindly drove us down to Mesquite.
Funfair, Hispanic fashion parade, great dresses, classic cars and trucks with fantastic paint and chrome jobs and country music sound stage, Paul got asked for id in the beer tent, but she didn't ask me! Well we pulled out of the campground at 8:20 to an accident on the main road. Because we had to turn left and they were down to 1 lane we had to wait 15 minutes before we could leave. Crossed over the Mississippi at Baton Rouge. We have seen it many times in various places but here I know what they mean by the muddy Mississippi. What a long day. ... I took pictures. The first set of pictures is getting to Wylie, TX and some sites around Wylie, you can see the steam coming off that lake.

I will get some pictures loaded and get them sent and I probably won't write until we hit the road again.

PS, I forgot to add we are staying in the same park we were in one and a half years ago.
