Disembarking from one of the best weeks of holidays I have ever had.
Wish could stay another week. Not much sleep last night. Off the ship and had hire car by 8.30

We took a 45 minute Ferry to Cumberland Island National Seashore which is the only way you can get to this island. It is a very primitive island with limited services. A National Park Ranger took us on a 6 hour van ride and talked about the history of the island going back to the 1500's.

... of the National Historic Landmark District, including many of the mansions their millionaire owners called “cottages”. On Thurs, 27 March we enjoyed the tram tour through the Historic District and going inside a couple of the cottages. Unfortunately we were unable to take any photos inside any of the homes. After our tour we were treated to a wonderful Brunch at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel.
Day 28 was a travel day, but our group stopped en route at Okefenokee Adventures for lunch and boat ride through the Okefenokee Swamp After lunch we had time to go to the visitors center to see a film about the area, visit gift shop or just walk around. ... an hour later. Called Bensons who were still driving down from Savannah today and gave them directions to our hotel as it was on their way. This gave us time for a nap - a luxury we gave up the last couple of days. Agreed to meet tomorrow morning and go to one of the auctions.
Richard popped out to Winn Dixie for some beverages as we have a fridge and we ordered pizza in from nearby Pizza Hut. It was great to watch the news and eat dinner in our room.
