Stayed at Carolina Landing RV resort. This is a Thousand Trails resort. The overall look and feel is not so good. Grounds are unkempt, pool is already closed. We made reservations and ate at Cornucopia, located in the second oldest building in Cashiers. Food was good, service was slow and poor. I asked to have my sisters' glasses filled and after 1.25 hours, if our entrees were ready. Linda asked for bread and after receiving bread, dipping oil. Other tables got water, bread, and dipping sauce without asking but not us. We will not return again.
Not much more needs to be said.
Regardless of how it ended, it was a great trip while it lasted! I crossed the Atlantic for the first time; rented a tux for what had better be the last time; saw good friends; met some neat people; drank some great wine; ate some wonderful meals (and some not so wonderful); rode a lot of neat trains; and saw some fantastic scenery.
