So sad... We have been driving through pretty much the whole state of Louisiana and have not seen a single vampyre, faerie, shapeshifter, wolf, etc. No town named Bon Temps either! It is very disappointing! Stopped in Alexandria at their mall to stretch our legs and grab a bite to eat. What a sad looking mall. It is so old and neglected, pretty much like the whole town. Kids rode some kiddie rides there ...

Today we stopped at Paragon Casino in Marksville, LA. They have a very nice rv resort next to the casino with shuttle service back and forth. We got in and set up, met some neighbors from Baton Rouge, determined the cable didn't work, so packed back up and moved to another spot. All was well there.

We arrived to Alexandria when it was already dark. The neighborhood we were driving through was quite dark too. But I really liked that people that we saw were sitting on their porches talking to neighbors, children were playing outside. San Diego is very different in that perspective – you only see cars and not many people hang out on the streets and in their front gardens.

Making time and the difficulty of finding a safe vantage point on two lane roads with no shoulders will have to suffice as my excuses.
