    ... assistants, a rake-thin woman who introduced herself as Tracey, came out to admire the bikes and give us the benefit of her knowledge of all things biking and a variety of other subjects.     ... bike gives up soon after. A two hour wait and we load the bike again onto the back of the support vehicle.

    We continue on our bikes for the 200 miles still to do and get to our hotel at columbus at about 730. Interesting doing battle on the maze of roads around Houston, but we get through, despite the heavy traffic.

    A quick shower and a nice steak at a nearby restaurant. A tiring long day - sleep beckons.

    Today we took a historic tour, sponsored by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce.  We started at the Stafford Opera House and ended at the Christmas House.  We had a private tour from a lovely lady, Tess, who showed us great Texan hospitality.  After the 2 hour tour we headed to Mikeskas Bar-B-Que for a great dinner.  The ribs were the best we ever ...

    ... and they arranged a person (Tess) to come out and open up the house for us at 10am. We could not believe all the shelves and shelves of Santas when we walked in ! It took us an hour of gazing and marveling before we called it a day.

    Greg kept plenty busy in Livingston, with every morning and afternoon filled with lessons for folks wanting to be more comfortable driving their RV. We also enjoyed the 2 1/2 days of "Boot Camp" put on by Escapees - even after 10 years of full-timing, there were still new things to be learned.
