We left Glasgow with the caravan on the 27th and spent a couple of nights en route to Dover. The traffic on the 27th was a nightmare but otherwise things went to plan and we arrived in Calais around 11.15 am on the 29th. With very few campsites open we used the motorway more than usual and just coughed up for the tolls.

Olot and Besalu
From Girona, we went a day trip to a couple of towns a bit higher up in the Pyrenees. Our initial hope was to stay for a couple of nights in Olot to use it as a base for a bit of hiking, but our inquiries at the tourist information office quickly made it apparent that a car would be necessary to get around to do the hikes. Not to be dissuaded, we decided to hop on the bus anyway and have a look around.

Perpignan & Collioure - Catalan delights

We came back regularly almost as friends rather that clients until one visit the restaurant was shut up and a sign said that M.Argenson had died. We were very sad but grateful that he had shown us what was on offer in another culture. Anyway the Brasserie was now open again and looked just as we remembered it and we were glad of that.
