Our second pilgrimage is over, A very different experience, the good and the bad, the heat, cold and incessant at times rain. The quite often loneliness of being just 3 for kilometre after kilometre. The lack of watering holes and accommodation, even when found could be freezing. But... The amazing places - Fatima, Tomar, Coimbra, Porto, Rondella, Ponte Vendra, to mention a few. The wonderful cheap food and wine in Portugal. We certainly intend to return soon and enjoy at ...
... Benidorm? Simply because neither of us have ever been and we’ve heard of so many people going.
Was it our grandparents/older relatives that went maybe?? Oh we were very young and got run over by tandem disability scooters on numerous occasions.
To be fair, we had a lovely walk along the promenade and around town (got a bit lost!!), then back to the campsite (about 7 miles). We ate on the promenade ...
... on the beach relaxing.
We then went for a walk, had non alcoholic cocktails like the ones in Ceasars in Christchurch and looked in a few shops before going out to dinner along the beach from the girls apartment.
After dinner we went back to the apartment and slept.
Well cruel as I may be, I cannot help smirking, the loony woman has damaged her rib! Party, party, vino, vino, dancing down the hallway, trips up and falls on table. Paracetamol and water , but not looking good for the long teck. Freddy is now dreaming of lazy days in Lisbon by the pool ...

After the trauma of hair washing, drying and straightening, we head off for a walk to lighthouse at Faro El Abir.
From the campsite, it is about five miles, there and back.
