Now we are Friday and went to the National Railway Museum and onto my Cousin Victoria's Home for the evening. What a great great evening. It's now Saturday and we went onto Aunty Chris and Neville's home for the rest of our stay. We went to a talk that Neville gave to a Church Group ...

... every mouthful is a delight. James is currently working his way through their counter of offerings, having been told he isn’t allowed to pick the same thing twice. Luckily we are here for a few more months yet. While Chamonix is a fantastic location, it sadly lacks a dedicated food market, where the local producers assemble together 5 or 6 days a week to offer their wares. Alas we have to settle for the Saturday morning open market in central Chamonix, ...

          ... their fine little town.

Tonight I am staying in an eight-bed dormitory on a camping site. There are two other residents, who I have yet to meet. It's probably the cheapest digs on offer at 23 Swiss Francs (approx 20 Euros) per night. I've done better than I expected for accommodation costs in Switzerland so far, thanks to staying initially in a shared room in a private home and then youth hostelling in Lausanne and ...

... as it gives me a chance to get my washing dry. Usually when camping in the wet there is just no way to get anything dried out. Had a Thai meal tonight. No real alternative restaurant open as its a Sunday. Not bad though.

Slightly concerned about tomorrow's walk. Both books describe it as the most difficult of the whole walk. Not recommended in the wet or when on your own or with a heavy rucksack. Strike three as the saying ...
