... tucked into their beds. I made a cup of tea, grabbed my book and headed out to the porch to just soak in some Vitamin D!
Greg eventually ambles his way out to my haven and asks me if I've had breakfast, he invites me to go out with him to catch some food. Which here, usually means a chocolate croissant. But I'm not arguing!
Greg asks me if I want to go see the beach, and I defer to him, even though I have been aching to see the sea, and just the ...
Tropea, Calabria, Italy benitalutzI wish I could draw. Because then I could show you the exact expressions around me, the face that Greg makes when he's telling a joke, that exact expression that reminds me so much of my Nonno (grandfather) it almost hurts, and it makes me laugh, then I get funny looks as no one understands what I find so funny.
I would depict for you how the sun shines, so brightly here in the mornings, reflecting life ...
Sant'Onofrio, Calabria, Italy benitalutz... for hikers. It is close to the Serre, a forested hinterland particularly known for its delicious mushrooms, and in the far north to the rugged mountain range of the Aspromonte with a wild and untouched nature, which is also a popular destination for hikers.

Getting to know Calabria, however, does not only mean bathing in the sea, exploring cities and landscapes and visiting artworks. It also means learning to understand and love the ...
Tropea, Italy elfra... to be there and see what so many people talked about for so long. We will never forget it nor the reception we received not only from the locals, but the Raso family that made it so easy for us to enjoy ourselves and make the most of it. This visit was something that we were looking forward to for a long time. It did not disappoint and will not soon be forgotten. Thank you Thank you Thank you! Now we head to the Amalfi coast! San Giorgio Morgeto, Italy meganandkevin... breathtakingly sited on the sheer cliffs, with a backdrop of mountains with terraced lemon groves behind (the best limoncello comes from this area). Our last stop in southern Italy was way done in Calabria, in the beautiful clifftop town of Tropea. The colour and clarity of the sea here is amazing - people swimming look like they are suspended in aquamarine-coloured air, with their shadows following them on the sandy bottom. Tropea was so different from Capri - there were ...

So up we went, and found a beautiful site overlooking the country and sea with an open air church and two fenced in squares stating the exact dates when Jesus appeared there. Very unusual and for me very strange and rather funny - I can't imagine ever seeing a sign like that in Australia that's for sure!

Tropea, Italy piccolauni... Italian or wish to learn Italian. The Italian language reflects what Italy is today: a country greatly changed and still transforming, a country that is not what is used to be nor as picturesque stereotypes would have it; a country with positive sides and contradictions too that just keeps on charming tourists from all over the world!
Tropea, Calabria, Italy piccolauniNow all we need is some inspiring music similar to "The Hunt for Red October" and that would start out this entry in good fashion. Our day began leaving Sorrento and hopping on the A3 Autostrada heading south towards Reggio Di Calabria, our final destination where we would catch a ferry towards Sicily. This would be a "free" day of sorts and Danielle's plan was to stop in Tropea to spend the night in a hotel so we didn't ...
