      ... inspected the site on the block where Marilyn and Pip plan to build their house within the next year or two. We then drove to explore the area. Bit rainy so we stopped for tapas and drinks in a small village bar- deep fried onion rings, tiny peppers and calamari. Then we went home for lunch at 5!       ... square while we had coffee, then drove to Toril, a small, peaceful village on the edge of the National Park. Marilyn had booked lunch, at 3 pm, and the meal was especially for us.       ... top. Fantastic views. Another Knights Templar castle, similar vintage as Tomar. Interesting coincidence after yesterday at Tomar. Drove to the village of Cuacos de Yuste. Called our friends, Marilyn, my old school friend and husband Pip, who came to meet us and we followed them up to the little house that they are renting in the country. After checking in, we were given a map with a circuitous route to take us round the one way system, out of the old town walls and round to the car park under the hotel which, itself, is against the old walls. Pressing the buzzer, the door opened to reveal - another door. This latter opened up, not into the parking area but into a one car lift.
