... It's supposed to be touristy but I thought it was really quiet. Everyone is very friendly and says hello when you pass. The rest of the afternoon we took advantage of the pool and lazy hammocks outside our room. For dinner we were recommended an italian place just across the road. The food was fantastic! It's was some of the best Italian I've had. We were the only ones in there and so we had quite a nice evening! The next day ...

We met several interesting people while running the hostel in Chitre and one of our guests, Kat, invited us to visit her in Pedasi. It was on our way so we decided to take her up on the offer. Our plan was to visit for a couple of days but we ended up staying for two weeks!

... of the 20 houses were recently repossessed. It could be a good time to buy – it could be the worst is yet to come. And yet it is so pretty here, most properties have a sea view or direct access to a beach. The houses are attractive and seem to be of high quality. There is even high-speed internet everywhere. Pedasi has 18 restaurants plus bakeries, cafes, banks and supermarkets. Plus there is ...

... equatorial sun was punishing. Lionel, our lancha captain, took us out to try to see some whales, but luck was not on our side. We came back to Pedasi, this time on calmer seas. I ate a late lunch- a yellowfin tuna sandwich. Cruel of me to betray my newfound marine friends so shortly after making one another's acquaintance. Ah well, it was damn tasty and, besides, there are many other fish in the sea. (haha)
