      We met several interesting people while running the hostel in Chitre and one of our guests, Kat, invited us to visit her in Pedasi. It was on our way so we decided to take her up on the offer. Our plan was to visit for a couple of days but we ended up staying for two weeks!

Subsequently Velkis, one of the teachers, found very kind words telling me how much they appreciate me helping them. She then handed me two gifts; a t-shirt and hot pants. Then we ate Flan.

      ... of the 20 houses were recently repossessed. It could be a good time to buy – it could be the worst is yet to come. And yet it is so pretty here, most properties have a sea view or direct access to a beach. The houses are attractive and seem to be of high quality. There is even high-speed internet everywhere.       ... equatorial sun was punishing. Lionel, our lancha captain, took us out to try to see some whales, but luck was not on our side. We came back to Pedasi, this time on calmer seas. I ate a late lunch- a yellowfin tuna sandwich. Cruel of me to betray my newfound marine friends so shortly after making one another's acquaintance. Ah well, it was damn tasty and, besides, there are many other fish in the sea. (haha)
