... NYE light show going on which was just lovely to watch. The view of central park is pretty impressive too, it really is huge, you can just see this massive rectangle inbetween the buildings on all sides. It was chilly but we spent a long time up there just looking around. I could have just stood up there watching for a very long time.

Then it was time to party. We walked up into the area near us where there was lots of bars and did a little tour of a few different places. It was ...

... for the twister ride - this was boring though and it is basically a movie set about twisters! Dull, dull - not worth it at all! From this we try to retrieve my bag for the locker but there is a parade on (stopped raining now- but outdoor rides not open yet)! So we head to the indoor transformers 3d ride! This was a long wait, and even though there a video screens to entertain you, the indoor queuing area feels claustrophobic , we were glad to get on the ride! This is ...

I figured I should probably get up, even though I really wanted to go back to sleep. Our first port of call on the cruise tomorrow starts at 7 am, so I need to get used to getting up early.

Our room was on the side of the hotel, so we had a view of Miami Beach and of downtown Miami. Very cool. It looked warm and sunny ...

... However it turns out the French consulate only encompasses one of the floors on one of the sides of the building. It stopped looking fancy once we got to our floor. We were greeted by a small, super stereotypical looking French lady that asked us what we were here for. I stated my name, and that I was here for a visa. She looked down at her list. Kept looking. She took out her pen, ran it down the list and furrowed her brow. She then started naming names in a ...

... on the top of double decker open top buses (the same company we had done the tour with the day before, actually) while everyone cheered at them. This was quite interesting for Olly, as he follows the basketball, but I couldn’t recognise any of the players. I also hate crowds, and standing around in the heat, which is what most of the morning consisted of! Around 40,000 people had crammed themselves into quite a small space to see their sporting ...
