... Unfortunately, the temperature this whole week was in the 40's with a lot of wind and we didn't know how to turn the heat on in the house. So we walked around completely bundled up and used space heaters to keep our rooms at temperatures slightly above freezing. It was pretty comical. I was in charge of feeding my host sisters fish, and one night Roger and I had to play fish hospital because the fish was getting sick because his water was so cold. So we ...
Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland chelseyineurope... for a less then memorable lunch, but it served its purpose. We got back on the road. The next part of our journey was all small roads, which caused Conrad a bit of confusion a few times.
We passed through a small village by the name of Rang that made us think of Carl & Patti.
At one point earlier today I believe we got caught by one of the speeding cameras. I saw a flash and that’s what Conrad ...
The past few days have been pretty much all work. The training is going well but it's far from entertaining. Our teacher is this woman from Germany who I have nicknamed "Das Furher". She is very serious. She has this "You vill lissen to vaht I teach and you vill learn it." type of personality. Actually she's OK once you come to the realization that it's just a cultural thing. I made it a point to ...
Tolochenaz, Vaud, Switzerland trockie... results in yolk spilling everywhere.
In America we are in too much of a hurry to beat rush-hour traffic and get to work. We are lucky if we have time for a cup of joe and a breakfast bar. If we eat eggs it's likely fried or scrambled. Something you can turn up the heat on and get it over in a hurry. I will miss my "Egg Zen" but know all too well it would drive me crazy attempting it on a daily basis back home. Perhaps on Sundays though...
... scenic trip along the lake, passing vineyards along the way. We got talking to an American who now lived there which was very interesting. When we got to Montreux, we bought food at the Coop and sat by the lake having a picnic lunch. We then walked along the lake to Chateau de Chillon which was a 45 min walk, on what was our hottest day so far- the forecast was 29 C but it may have been a bit cooler by the lake.
Chateau de Chillon is on a small rocky ...
... train station, in fact it was right on the railway –we could literally walk up some steps and down a platform and we were on Number 9 platform. Luckily our room was on the other side of the building and we had a view (in the distance) of Lake Geneva. We had 4 bunk beds in a private room and our own private bathroom across the hall. We were ...

Geneve, Switzerland bafreuxGeneva is a beautiful city with cobble stone streets and old homes, really old churches and statues. I loved it here even though i was here only for a short time. i will go back one day.

I will begin this entry by letting those of you at home in on a little secret that Bill and I have discovered during our travels. Please take out your driver`s license, turn it over, and look at the box indicating whether you are an organ donor or not. If you are, we have some shocking and disturbing news for you. In the unlikely event of your premature death, you are probably thinking that your organs will go to help a needy person in the USA ...
Geneva, Switzerland billandsara... train/bus times and hostels, we had to go buy food, and meds (to rid myself of the sickness). All I can say is that the Euro is insane. Everything was at least half the price at home. I'm so glad that I did my shopping at MEC. Anyways, off to pack for the trip...need to borrow lots of sweaters from Roxanna b/c we've heard it's cold in Germany.
