... tour for monday and spent the day seeing 5 different castles.
Our first castle was chenonceau, which remains my favorite. if i'm ever a fairy princess thats my castle. I think what made it so incredible was actually the fog. it was so ridiculously foggy you could barely see the outline of the castle which added to the surreal feel of all of it. unfortunately we made it back to the van late and our driver got all ***** and french at us. later ...

So this morning a grumpy linda rolled out of bed at 6 am ready to get on the school bus and start class. yep that's right. i've gone back in time to highschool.....

The grumpiness wore off tho as becca and i trekked down to the bus stop. i can't even describe how beautiful watching the sunrise over the gulf was. the sky had a pink color, and all the hills were a pale blue/ green in the distance the sea was periwinkle. it was definitely a far better ...

so 2 weeks into france and i've yet to write a thing. im so bad at this game. meh.
today i went to the beach, it was wonderful!!!! becca thought it was cold, she was wrong :)

so apparently sainte maxime is infiltrated by german tourists, who knew? the only frenchies on the beach were...well enjoying themselves quite a bit..... ;-)

Just paid a fleeting visit to St Tropez on the way to Avignon (so we thought)... had to be done really.. a quick wander around and a very quick coffee. It was much smaller than I thought. Lots of nice boats but loads of tourists too.... that was about it!

... believe our luck. It was so nice. Still, warm and crystal clear water on sandy beaches. We had a quick swim but knew we had to leave to get to Avignon on time. We then decided that if we found a campsite that was open we would stay. The first 2 we came to were closed and we were sad...but around at st clair beach one was open! Woo hoo!!!! 2 very happy girls. That night we played in the sand like kids ...

... naked, and got dressed while the boat was docking, as they were only allowed on the boat while wearing clothes (bikini was decent enough )! The last island to visit was Ile de Lérins where we spent an afternoon before ending our honeymoon with 3 days in Nice. This tiny island is run by monks who live on the island's monastery, where they pass their time running the monastery, praying, making wine and olive oil . We took the ferry from Cannes' harbor and had a good walk around ...

... train back to Nice, where we changed for a train to the principality of Monaco - the 6th country of our trip so far. Monaco was much more impressive. Huge cliffs lined with expensive hotels dropping down the sea lined with expensive boats, and the streets lined with expensive cars. Monaco was really an eye opener as to how the rich live. I have never seen so many Ferrari's and Lamborginies in one place. It was amazing. Of course most exciting ...

... by a famous agent, so we headed back to Nice. That night we went to the movies to see the Da Vinci Code. The movie was in English with French subtitles, which worked well until we realized that half the movie was in French, which didn't put English subtitles because everybody in the theatre spoke French! I guess we'll have to watch the movie again when we are back in English speaking territory. Today we took the train to Monaco. This was the most impressive place in the French ...
