... of lovely churches. The edge of the lake is ringed with holiday van parks, hotels & Pensiones & in summer it must be jammed full of visitors but it was quite comfortable for us with some German older visitors.

The return bus from Lazise, at 1.30, was nearly full of school kids returning home but they thinned out rapidly as we approached Verona. The countryside appears to be very fertile with many vineyards, olive groves, fruit trees, ...

... so (L-R) we are me, Dario, Alex, and Alice, with Bernard and Justin in back. A wonderful bunch of people who were so much fun to spend a month with!

Later, everyone but Dario and Alice joined a couple of students from the other class and me at a restaurant for a lovely "farewell" dinner. There I learned, among other things, that Justin is a Franciscan, not Buddist, priest. What are the odds that two of six students would be Catholic ...

Although a fictional character of Shakespeare, this is a popular stop with a balcony for the tourists.

The afternoon was getting late and our feet ...

We left our apartment in Lezzeno about 10:00am for our drive to Verona. The first hour required us to navigate the narrow winding roadway of Lake Como as well as the many cyclists out for a Sunday ride. Given we have no timetable, there was no need to hurry.

We drove about three hours including a couple of stops along the way. We arrived in Verona about 1:30pm at our hotel in the ...
