    As I said before I am terrible at this blog thing. We have been in Italy for two weeks now and have enjoyed it very much! Saying goodbye to Ireland and the people we met was bittersweet. Its hard to believe we are halfway done with our great adventure! I have enjoyed meeting so many different people, I think it has been the highlight for me. While in Ireland we met a wonderful Christian couple that took us around Donegal and took us to church, it was so good ...

    ... an archway to the Piazza del Erbe (1301), once the Roman forum. A brass band all dressed up in traditional garb marched in to here and continued entertaining the crowd. At one end of the piazza is the della Scala palace also built in 1301 and capped with six statues of pagan gods. Lots of restaurants here and very busy. Also went and looked at the family graveyard of the powerful della Scala family with its impressive tombs from the 14thC. Could clearly see the ladder on their coat ...
