I walk for a good couple hours along the coast path. Very scenic. Then I make my way back to town. It starts to rain, I find shelter and wait for it to let up. So after a quick lunch we changed into our swim wear, which in the case of Paul had to be speedos as the general swimming pool rules in France insist on no baggy shorts so budgie smugglers it has to be!!! Okay i've just been corrected, they're not speedos they're swim shorts......but still lycra hee hee. Anyway off we trotted to the spa only to be told that due ...

... in WW II when they occupied France. They are still there, and I am presuming that their present role is to as an anchorage for large yachts.
The Germans had occupied all the countries on the Atlantic, English Channel and North Sea of Europe and constructed defences in strategic sites along that long coast line. One can still see the gun emplacements on the cliffs of Brittany, Bordeaux and Normandy. It is still frightening to see and think ...
