After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!
Menton, Provence, France darrenhough74Up early as it was a spectacular sunrise - full of pinks and organges. We wanted to hit McWifi before we entered Italy but we did not find one until later in the day in Menton. Before that we drove the coast road through Nice and Monte Carlo, both concrete ...
Monte-Carlo, Monaco darrenhough74Gorgeous morning and a stunning place for breakfast awaited us just outside Scooby overlooking the lake. I went for a run but Kim was feeling a little under the weather so she stayed and made me breakfast - yay! We spotted two girls about our age and attempted to engage in some conversation but their English was limited and French is rubbish. Shame as its manily been the grey hair brigade we ...
Grasse, Provence, France darrenhough74... the wonderful "fun" and "vitamin" radio stations to keep us entertained with "Evacuate the Dancefloor" and 3 other dance songs that they kept repeating.

http://picasaweb.goog le.com/Jonny.D.Lawrence/20090928Cannes? authkey=Gv1sRgCPHzqZ_hy_fA8AE&feat= directlink
Cannes, Provence, France sofenjon... we opted not to return to the Ruby Princess just yet. Instead we chose to visit the casino in Monte-Carlo. Here, we found where the rich and famous come to play! There were BMW's, Mercedes, Audi's, Porsche's, Ferrari's and even a Lamborghini. We even witnessed a Volkswagon wedding car. Hmm! A wedding in Monte-Carlo! Can you say $$$$$$$?

We couldn't make a visit to the casino without making a wager ...
Monte-Carlo, Monaco ricknelsieThe sun is out and it is nice and warm. We decide to spend another day here and go to the beach.

It is much quieter here today, most French have gone to work. Those motor homes are still parked along the road. If we had one, we would be right there with them. It is such a beautiful spot with the snow capped mountains in the back, the fore mountains, the towns and then the sea right here.<br ...
Antibes, Provence, France dancejill... few minutes later, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker walked out of a restaurant. Star sightings in our pocket, we headed over to the theatre for the movie that our hosts recommended (mostly because it was in English). It turns out they suggested a good movie for us because as Humpday started, we realized that not only was it very funny, but that the story took place in Seattle, probably in Capitol Hill. So for those of you in Seattle, go check out Humpday. With ...
Antibes, Provence, France jamierand... that he was also visiting Ventimiglia for the market and was going back home to Antibes and then Paris soon. All of this was in French! I had a real French conversation, but he probably felt like he was talking to a three year old. I was telling him that I had one brother and one sister. I said that he is 25 and she is 28, maybe (because I'm not quite sure how old Jeanette is, sorry Jeanette, haha). But instead of saying "maybe" (a word I just learned recently) I said desk ...
Antibes, Provence, France k1thomas... wonderful summer back home!!! Friday and Chris left for UK again. Time to clean up our Antibes home and ensure it is as spotless as we found it. For those who would like to see more on our exchange house in Antibes, go to this web site. Patrick and Patricia would be happy for anyone to approach them re renting, which they do most of the summer months. Exchanging is also something they enjoy when they have a specific place they want to visit. http://www.lescasemates.net/
Antibes, France bucksbeach... my clothing, as long as I insulted how DIRTY his clothes were. Aside from that, the little town was relaly cute; known for the bull ring as well as the Roman Amphitheatre which now just stands as ruins. We had some lunch at what seemed like a good clean cut restaurant, but instead when you visited the toilettes it was an entirely different atmosphere. The toillete itself, the sink, and the hand drive was standard, but the soap dispenser was ...
