Cruise - Day 8

A travel blog entry by argyles on Apr 04, 2015

This morning we were woken by crew emergency drills. At 09:30, the bridge alerted the ship of the exercise that was taking place at 10:00 am ship's time. At this time, the crew muster signal was sounded, and the exercise was a fire in the Epicurean Restaurant. During this drill, passenger services were limited. As we usually disembark after midday, we don't usually have an official photo on the quayside. So, today we headed ashore to have this photo as we were awake in ...

... Heidi swore all the way up (not helped by the fact it took me more than an hour to find the start of the walk!) but agreed it was well worth the views. We did also manage to do an excellent day's guided tour of the island (Lanzarote really isn't that big!) and see the main sites.
All in all a difficult week turned out to be the best place in the run up to the funeral, the only other time I'd been to Lanzarote was actually with Granny. Happy ...

... not a bad way to spend my birthday!

Monday 9th June

Its home time today, and to make the most of it, we're up at the crack of dawn and out by the pool again before our 10am shuttle to the airport. I will be sad to leave the sunshine, cactus's and ocean, but will not miss having to dispose of toilet paper in a bin (due to their delicate system)! Adios Lanzarote, hasta luego!
