... of flowers in nearly every window - way too much dusting for my taste!). There was even a legend ( a list of dots next to peoples names) to show who was getting what. I didn't like to ask who Ebay was (hoping that it was the business rather than a person's name - but you cant tell sometimes. We got served by a girl called Prune in France!)

At last we got the chance to spend more than a couple of days in Maastricht! My cousin Annelies and her husband Jules live there and it's a wonderful city full of history and culture. We really enjoyed the hospitality of our hosts and Jen and Matt were able to visit for my birthday. Sharan and Peter Burrow were only an hour away in Brussels so we got to spend a weekend with them as well as cousins Kees and Ans who live in the rural town of Berlicum and Sanne and Dan in Zierikzee ...

... Netherlands fashion, it started to rain. It was interesting walking around the town, but once again most shops were closed, today being Sunday. At least it is saving us money, no shops open, also no time to shop. Maastricht looks to be quite a wealthy town judging by the prices of things in the shops.
