... 8211; it was very steep and one knee complained. Also walking down means you have to walk or bus back along the busy road, not much fun after walking for a few hours away from the traffic.

... becomes more of a marvel.
I left Biella yesterday for the first time. All by myself. On a train. The key thing to remember is 'Don't Stress, Don't Panic' and all will be good and dandy.
I met with Ellen at the station with the australian way of finding someone-stick your hand up and start yelling- it worked wonders.
It was beautiful in Milano, very big, very elaborate. Especially the Duomo! The only way i can describe it is very pointy.

... you can believe that! The average temperature here over the year is about 60 degrees, very pleasant. The island that we will visit has about 35 families living there and a couple of good seafood restaurants, one we will dine in and a great view. I am told that the picnic areas and restaurants are all under arbors of wisteria, although I did not get to observe that. We both had the lake perch for the third course.
