To be honest we have had a pretty lazy time here; lots of sitting around soaking up the atmosphere, putting away a few beers and the most delicious gelato I have had so far. So we saw the Colosseum and Forum. That's about it for scheduled. We had about 3 hours for free time so of course we went shopping and got gifts for everyone. I also got new shoes!!!!!! Dinner was pasta and then back to the hotel because one of the other schools is leaving tomorrow morning so they need their sleep. Pompeii is tomorrow. Love you guys. ...
Anyway, on to the Trevi Fountain!
They say that if you take a coin, turn your back to the fountain, and throw it over your right shoulder with your left hand into the fountain, you'll be blessed with luck and return to Rome one day.
SO OF COURSE WE DID IT.
Come on! We had to!
This has to have been my favorite stop of the whole tour. First off, I think they might need to rename the fountain to the Trevi Pool or ...
Now we are off in a taxi and what a wild ride we have ( thankfully we are not too far from home). It is rush hour (but then again it is always crazy on the streets on Rome) and our driver is yelling at other drivers, yelling at pedestrians, screaming about traffic, it is a most chaotic trip back to the apartment and we are thankful when we arrive home in one piece. It is definitely nap time for us.
