Good but too far from Sorrento

Hotel in Saint Agnello which is a 40min walk from Sorrento, Hotel provides a shuttle bus but not that frequently and at some odd times. At the top of a hill so not a good idea for disabled or elderly.

Food ok but not to a 5 star standard.

Rooms clean and staff fairly friendly.

Make sure you have a room with a pool view as the rooms without haven't got good views at all and some have no windows so very dark. We had to ask to be moved and paid extra. Wouldn't have said this was 5 star more a 4+.

      Very Fancy

Away from main Sorrento, but a shuttle (every 2 hours or so) is provided. It is possible to walk into town-about 45 min or so. The lobby was beautiful, the breakfast was outstanding-even an omelette bar. The pool was only 4 feet or so at it's deepest and some of the other guests (as well as some of the staff) are a little shall we say less than warm. The room was large and gorgeous with painted tile floors and a big vanity in the bathroom-a rare commodity in Italy.

      Great Weekend Break

Just returned from a great long weekend at La Pace. The staff could not have been more helpful and the hotel is beautiful. Had lovely suite with excellent facilities. 2km from centre of town but courtesy bus service provided. Would go back.

      An Excellent Hotel

Spent One week in this hotel in Sept 2002. Had a lovely room at back of hotel. Staff very friendly. Excellent for breakfast and evening meals.

Fab pool. Liked it and Sorrento that much we are going back Sept 2004.

Hotel located approx 500 Mtr from St. Agnello (a nice area) and just about 2 Kl from Sorrento. This was not a problem as there was a courtesy bus from hotel to centre and back several times daily.

      First rate

I have just spent a most enjoyable long weekend at this hotel, I found the staff to be most helpfull and i rate this hotel to be five star, Who needs a bath when on holiday, Anyway a shower is cleaner, I must say i'm glad i did not cancel my booking after i read some of the coments posted to this site.

      Don't honeymoon there!

We spent 10 days there on our honeymoon in July 2003. We paid for sea view (very distant!) and a suite. From the moment we arrived the reception staff could not have been more difficult, they were rude and unhelpful to the point where another guest complained to the manager.

The restaurant staff were superb although the restaurant was a bit stuffy and the food did become a bit monotonous. The location is too far away from the centre and the free bus is very poor. We would not recommend this hotel.

      Worst Holiday of my life

It was the worst five star hotel , I have ever stayed in. The staff were extremely ignorant and rude. We had a bracelet stolen from our room and we had to go to the police ourselves, the hotel refused to phone them.

I thought the hotel was great. The staff were friendly, it had a lovely pool area and the food was great. I would have given it all 5 but the rooms weren't great.

      Avoid at all costs

spent two weeks here in august 2003 great staff nice hotel but in a no star location sorrento is about great views the views from this hotel are of dereict buildings too far from town

      Grand? Hotel

Nice hotel, brand new, helpful staff. However, I don't understand how it rates 5 stars when bathrooms only have showers. A fairly dreadful location, not much on views. You can walk into town at substantial peril, otherwise you'll have to take a outrageously expensive Sorrento taxi.

For those of you who are friends with me on Facebook, you may have noticed the pictures I've been uploading on a somewhat weekly basis. You’ll see the views, the people, maybe a selfie here and there, but most importantly, take note of the entire photo album I have dedicated solely to the Italian food I’ve been enjoying during my travels. The food here is just that delicious. It’s not to make you jealous (well, maybe a little), but the more important ...

... when a brief stop was made along the cliff for photos opportunities in which the minute I stepped out of the bus, the warm breeze of the sea could be felt on my face!

Ten minutes later, we were in Sorrento being driven along the narrow streets where scooters appeared to be a popular way of transportation and where many ...

... There are a ton of vendors selling iPhones and knock off purses in the streets. And no I did not buy one.  Remember?  Shopping with Wally! I was glad to be back on the ship.  Tonight we are signing up for family feud.  The Italian market opens soon and there is a singer coming on soon that we want to hear.  There is so. Uch to do on the ship and not enough time to do everything.  Thank goodness we have a sea day ...

Last night we had dinner here at the hostel. While Channing was napping I walked up to the little town we are in and happened upon this very small deli/supermarket. They had fresh fruit, vegetables, proschuitto, bread, salami, etc. etc. I asked the lady if she could make me a sandwich and of course she did not speak any English so I had to speak Italian. I managed ...

... eater so it was good. They had spiced up the sausage meat quite a bit too so perhaps the combination of flavours is what I enjoyed along with a perfectly matched glass of chianti.

Just as we finished lunch and ordered our dessert of an espresso and Limoncello each, it started to drizzle. We were the last table outside that was just under the shelter but others weren't so lucky. We took pity on a nice couple who had just sat down and ordered ...
