... We then made our way back to Monza train station and after saying goodbye to Anita and Michel, we caught the train for 2.5hrs to Tirano. Tirano is 10mins away from Brusio which is where my Great Uncle Roberto and Great Aunty Ilaria live- we stayed with them for 3 nights. Arianna their daughter (mum's cousin), picked us up- she's so sweet, apparently she'd come an hour early because she was so excited! I was super excited to see her ...

We indulged in a gelato before heading back to collect our bags and catch the ferry to the train station where we caught the train to Milan or Milano. Venezia to Milano by traino 2.5 hours. We traveled ...

    ... the magical Bernina Pass.

Just like the Preda Pass this pass is shared by road and railway but unlike the Preda Pass this pass is much more open with rivers and lakes all along the way.

Unlike most passes in the Alps this pass has a rather strange feel to it. It makes its way up into the mountains just like most but at one point one comes out into one massive open space which almost looks like a rocky beach. There are large stones everywhere. It is ...

... legible and made sense. Easily buying our Bernina rail tickets, we headed out for a bite to eat before our train was due. The only thing
I saw in the shop that Ken could eat was a banana, so I looked it up in Italian and it's “banana” (same as in spanish). However the waitress did not get it or gluten free and after miming peeling and eating a banana (very embarrassing) we did manage to get it. This
    prompted ...
