... Groups of people doing aerobics, spin classes, boot camp, it was exercise central. I briefly considered joining in on the spinning, but only briefly :) I ended up seated facing the water at the Hard Rock Cafe to take advantage of the good wether... I know, not exactly local cuisine and in fact I think it's only travellers who ever go visit them. A twisting road around Puig Major plunges 800m in just 12km, turning 270 degrees at one point to loop under itself (a feature known as the 'Knotted Tie'). A much better and easier approach is by boat from Port de Soller, passing genuinely isolated bays with an excellent view of Puig Major, albeit spoilt by the military installations on the summit of Mallorca's ...

A couple hills and a coffee stop, not much to report today aside from another lovely day of riding. We passed many an almond tree, one of Mallorca's key products along with lemons, oranges and apricots. The coffee stop in Bunyola coincided with their feast day for their patron Saint Mateu. Song, dance, piñata-like activities for the kids, and a a parade through town with bagpipes for all the villagers was quite the sight, and it looked like everyone was ...
