Sam and Henry finished the year at Mas Camarena with a week of exams and a week of good-byes. We certainly hope some of our Spanish friends will make a trip to California some day -- and that we will all have a chance to revisit Valencia, and the wonderful year it gave our family, in the near future.

Arrived at Valencia and did my usual drive through a few narrow streets following the Satnav to locate tonight's beautiful campsite parking. It has only recently opened and has a pool laundry and small restaurant and bar for only €10 a night. ... hotel to shower and eat dinner, which was delicious. Overall, Saturday was a great day.

We still had Sunday morning and afternoon in Montanejos. Our last activity would be white water rafting! This was my favorite part of the trip. The factory is in a small town just north of Valencia. We arrived fairly early and found ourselves in the first tour group of the day. Most parts of the various figurines are molded plaster. The more complex pieces have several different molds. When each piece is rigid enough they are "welded" together with additional wet clay. The figurines are then painted by hand and ultimately fired.
