Yesterday we traveled to Southern Brittany and visited Vannes then followed the peninsula down via Carnac to Quiberon. Fougeres has a magnificent castle built on the side of the hill sloping down to the river. The builders had used the river to fill the moat and drive four water wheels that remain in use (I guess having been replaced a few times).
