... to spend $30 on a bottle. The YHA in Katoomba has a small car park where they won't allow you to park, they were a little rude to Emma when she enquired there on Tuesday morning, despite some reviews to the contrary and we headed on to our first (if a bit more expensive) choice: Katoomba Tourist Park. There's a railway all the way to the the Blue Mountains town but we'd skimmed Western Sydney before heading inland by road. The areas scenery and colourful Art Deco style ...

... set as patrons had been there, and their plates, cutlery etc cleared away, yet the tables not made up. Why not ??

There were tables with three chairs and two settings and when we pointed to them, we were told they were only for two ! How hard would it be to add another setting?

I couldn't resist going back and buying more cakes for later.
The day was long. I finally made it to the Hume and had to pull into a rest stop for a nap. And then continue on, more ...

... way (and past the old lookout on nearby Orphan Rock that’s now closed as it’s considered to be unstable – it does look very dodgy!) We then head back across the valley on the Scenic Cablecar, the highest in Australia (it takes you twice the height of the Sydney Harbour Bridge over the top of the forest canopy below!) It also has an opaque glass floor that becomes clear after the car sets off, which is fun! We get great views down ...

Day 2 at Blue Mtns. We got up early and went to Leura for a breakfast of sorts. We wanted to be at the Scenic World by 9 am to experience the cable car, the railway cable down and the scenic skyway across the mountains. Apparently the skyway is as high as Harbour Bridge in Sydney. Besides the Three Sisters mountain range, the Orphan rock is amazing. Due to a landslide it was closed ...
