... 8217;s getting late into the Fall. However wonderful it is, the heavy evening dews may actually be worse than England’s rain for putting away a tent. Completely wet inside from condensation in the cool night air, as well as wet outside from the dew, we are always packing a soaked tent. That and the mosquitos are ever-present again. Just had to add a few negatives so all my Canadian friends burried under snow don't get too jealous ;)
... the same stories but every time it's hilarious.
The hi-lite of my stay in Montpellier was spending the evening with friends from elementary school I hadn't seen in over 10 years. I had completely lost touch with these people but thanks to Facebook, I was able to join them all and organize a reunion. It was absolutely wild to see how these people changed and grew up. Some changed a whole lot while others I would have recognized in ...
... BUT the info we got for the campsite was wrong and it was closed.. and the one next door too. So a rushed internet trip we found one, way out and got there just in time. France is full of red lights, roundabouts and pedestrian crossings!!!! Im SOOOOO over them all!!!!
Got to the campsite and there were no buses in town,. We were exhausted by then so fell into bed and decided to give up on that part of France and head to Lyon the next day...
... is hands down my favorite way to travel. At first, it seems very intimidating, but you meet so many people so quickly. I had pictured myself being alone for the whole time, but honestly, I have not had a single dinner alone. The idea of eating alone is not even an option because there are so many people to hang out with. What is also very cool about traveling is that all the people you meet are mildly interesting ...
Lodeve, Languedoc-Roussillon, France jdcabanel... and I watched a movie, had lunch with his sister and mom where we talked about politics and I ate a melon with cognac in it. After lunch Mathias and I headed to the med where I tanned and napped on the beach. We went back home to finish the movie and make a cake. We made it together and it was quite fun. We then played a bizarre French card game and I talk to his sister about twilight!

... to allow rain in Italy to clear. Want to re-visit Lake Garda, see if we can't get the spot right next to the lake we last had some 15 years ago, say. Don't know if it's a good idea to go back to the site of happy memories: can you improve on them in any way, or only spoil their rosy glow?
All well with rig, thankfully - you hardly know it's there!
... its 11:30 AM and breakfast has been missed. The Cafes and restaurants are closed and the 2 shops on board are simultaneously shut. Not even a vending machine in sight. Oh dear. Have to hold out till 12:30, when the first sitting of lunch occurs. The formality of travelling in the nautical world is killing us. I take a walk around the ship up to the lofty heights of the 6th level and amused to find large cabins, fake Reeboks parked outside, full of dishevelled Moroccan men smoking ...
Sete, France barneyandpier... top of the ampetheatre peering down at the road a long way down. One of the most memorable things about my stay in Nimes was meeting a kooky Moroccan guy living in France. His story was basically that he's been in Europe for 4 years looking for a job in hotel management, with his family paying the costs! He told me some very interesting stories, such as him paying 500 euros to some Africans to perform witchcraft to help him get more money ...
Avignon, France constantinople... I was born in a factory, maybe in China, maybe in Forcella (Napoli), I ignore it. I have been living the first months of my life in a box. We were a lot, all shining, but we couldn't know as there was no sun. Then, one day a voice came. It was always a different voice coming from far. This voice used to bring with her one of us. One says that going with that voice meant getting a kind of Nirvana, because, in that occasion we would have reached ...
