... losing it over nothing.

It chucked it down again on the way back and we were saturated by the time we got back to Scooby... So maybe he had the last laugh.

Then on the way back along the road to Scooby some idiot intentionally drove through a puddle to splash Kim... Don't like this town at all, it's full of pric...meanies

I see red... I see red... I see red!

Another pretty little village this time famous for its red brick houses. A little more life than the last few villages and even a few shops open, one of which specialised in foie gras. As this is foie gras territory we did as the locals do and bought ourselves some which we will enjoy one night with one of the remaining bottle of champagne we still have in Scooby.

Shopping!

... at the cafes and it's anywhere from 4,50-7,10 (that's eros, so add a **** ton of dollars to that, AND no free refills). The "ruins" were to far away for our time crunch so i didn't get to them, but we went to an old cathedral where the knights of templar used to hang out alot. It was neato. I'll post more soon. Miss and love you all.

Conoeing the Dordogne

We spent the entire afternoon canoeing down the Dordogne. We packed a lunch and found a nice spot along the river to enjoy some wine and cheese. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Every couple of Kilometers was anothe castle overlooking the river. The river was so flat that we could just float along and enjoy the view.

Family, Food and Fun

From the cousins house we moved further west to Neils parents house. They have a place in a beautiful old town. It is an old walled vilage on the hilltop overlooking the valley. The village is full of cobblestone streets, windy narrow alleys and cute little homes. We ate great meals, enjoyed excellent wine and spent time with Neils parents. thank you again for hosting us!

The good life

... to converse a bit in French - she's something like 1/4 Tunisian, but has lived in France all her life. She told me her name a couple of times, but I have no idea what it was, because I couldn't make it out. It was a pretty broken conversation, so I eventually gave up.

Back in town, some quick planning for the rest of the trip at an Internet cafe, then a shower, then over to the TI for some advice on train connections from Sarlat to Amboise. I`ve found ...

Fit for a king

... br>
After the pastis was some ultra-smooth red wine, slightly chilled, and some nice and soft, cakey bread. The crust was a bit hard, but otherwise good. The last time I was in France, I was actually on a tight budget overall, but splurged on many fine French meals. It will be no different this time - I didn't need or want to splurge on any meals in Spain, so I feel absolutely no guilt over stuffing myself again in France. Coming to France and not ...

Cooking in France

... s what it turned into.

So to start with the French cooking course, I had been planing this with my Aunty Sue about 2 years ago and finally we made it happen, it was wonderful, we spent the week with a lovely group of people who all had the love or at least willingness to learn to cook between us and with the guidance of head chef Jim concocted some amazing dishes, ate ...

Stayed here in Biarritz - thought we would treat ourselves after the rough camping. Very nice indeed! LUXURY indeed.
