Left Perugia in the morning and drove across to Assisi, which looks absolutely stunning when viewed from Perugia, the other side of the valley. Arrived to find Assisi in the throes of a medieval festival, Calendimaggio di Assisi.

Sat in Piazza del Comune, with a coffee, of course, and watched all the activity. Attendance for the festival had increased the crowds, with the Capo dells ...
