... on another Churros mission so we ended up at a placed called Geographic. I really don't know why it was called that, it seemed like more of a sports bar than anything - with tennis, F1, and soccer all being displayed on giant TV screens. This particular strip, along the sandy beach, is really the tourist street of Javea, where all the British go for a holiday. I've often said that Bali is a beautiful island entirely ruined by obnoxious Australians, well ...

... cashing. "Noh" he said, then something in Spanish. We looked at him the way a startled cat looks when you catch them up to no good. He came out from behind the desk and showed us the take-a-ticket machine. We took a ticket, number 12. The display said 11. He walked back behind the desk, pressed the buzzer, then took the ticket from my hands and only then could we continue. We filled in some forms, thanks to Word Lens that meant we knew what information to put ...

As I opened up the fuel cap, the metal hinge broke and the fuel cap literally fell off into my hand! 2 supermarkets later and I'd found gaffa tape, which will do until John tells me where to go to get it fixed, but it was now getting late. We didn't get home until about 10pm, and we still had ...

... I followed Diane's SMART car along the highway back to the villa. It occurred to me almost immediately that I didn't know if the speed limits were in kilometres or miles per hour - I'm pretty sure Europe is all metric but it's a 70 zone and we're doing 70 miles per hour according to the speedo - so maybe it's miles? I asked Diane when we got back, "kilometres" she said. Oh. "So we were doing 100 in that 70 zone?" "Yeah everyone speeds in Spain". Righto. Well ...

... one (it turned out to be the water for the pool). So I rang Diane, and she told me to find the gas bottle. Well I looked and looked, no gas bottle that I could see. Eventually I found what appeared to be a pipe that should go to a gas bottle, but there was nothing on the end of it - no valve, and certainly no gas bottle. Diane decided to visit, and a few phone calls later it turned out that the people who had previously lived here had taken it with them when they left, ...
