... You were not allowed to take any photos or talk.....I may have gotten into trouble because I had my GoPro on, oops. He said no photos, not video -_- I also managed to take a sneaky, blurry snap of the roof of the Sistine chapel, painted
by Michelangelo.

We made our way back to our accommodation after a long day in Vatican City and so ended our last day in Rome.

June 17th, Terminal 3, Fiumicino Airport, Rome.

I landed here a little after 8 am on a Ryanair flight from Palermo. With 7 hours before my 4 pm flight to Colombo, I've found a comfortable, quiet spot by a gift shop at this roundabout of humanity to present my last days in Italy.

... at the top of some steps. It turns out that the steps led up to the Quirinal Palace, the official residence and office of the President of the Italian Republic, and there was a small parade going on. I'm still not sure what the occasion was, but one of the military bands (I think it was the army, but I'm not 100% certain) continued playing, even after the parade had finished. ... multiple statues lining the top of the walls surrounding it. We lined up to get inside, lined up once we got inside, and then lined up again by accident and ended up going to the cupola (top).
