Under and over taking is allowed, most of the cars have bangs and scrapes on them, and some of the roads around Positano were so narrow with parked cars it was nearly impossible to drive along, never mind about it being a two way road ! ... very happy to have them join us on part of our trip and we wished them a safe journey. Our team of eight trimmed down to six.

From the very start all bode badly: we could hardly fit in the metro cars. As hundreds of people flooded out of the metro station, we realised that thousands were flocking towards Saint-Peter's Basilica. As we got to the gates, we felt frightened for our children as the people were pushing and shoving to get in.

Rome is amazing!
Yesterday we arrived at the apartment we booked, it is way better then we expected. It's really quaint and very Italian. I particularly love the old brick ceilings and marble steps. As the ceremony was not until 1630 I had time to go swimming in the outdoor pool. It was cloudy and windy and probably noone else would have asked the hotel to open a winterclosed pool, but I did..
