Last day in Tuscany today. We opted for a cruisy day today as everyone is tired out - these medieval towns have a lot of steps and hills. ... to look over the roof tops of Florence. We went into the Duomo after that, but after visiting the Siena Duomo it was a little of an anti-climax. Beautiful on the outside, but quite understated (by Roman Catholic standards) on the inside.

Under the Duomo we visited the recently discovered Crypt. It was found by accident in 1999 when work was being undertaken on the cathedral. It was filled up with rubble some time in the 14th C and forgotten. As a result it has some very well preserved murals ...
