      ... detour through the mountains. By the time we reached Ravenna, the sun was out and it was a nice day of walking through a city with spectacular mosaics in the Basilicas and Baptistries. Ravenna itself is a modern town except for the few churches and religious buildings left in the older part of town.

      ... rather thorny but dear family helped us pull the thorns from our paws.

      So, a new path was revealed, to the South West of France where we would be able to dig ourselves in, in a house made of rock and wood rather than in a Landy metal box, and await the arrival of the new passports at our door.
